bought them yesterday. went on a spree without any particular reason to do so. shoe therapy is major comforting. even (and sometimes, especially) when it's done alone. and being the nice sister that i am (heh), got a pair for yana!

guess she'll receive her pair earlier ;) mum booked her an earlier ticket; tuesday proved indeed to be too faraway. thus, saturday became of choice.

for those who are in the know, the earthquake, alhmdlh, happened at a district called Bengkulu. interestingly, it is nearer to Singapore than it is to her place, Padang Panjang, which is btw, different from Padang per se. she felt tremors somewhat comparable to the earlier quakes in march.

i am super heartened by the many who remembered that my sister is away. and all your concerned msgs. although you equate Padang to Yana, AND they are nothing alike except the fact she speaks fluent Padang language (which i think it's Minang dialect & eats Nasi Padang very regularly, i thank you and you and you. Allah bless you-s.

i felt no tremors whatsoever though (i have a hunch it's cos i am on the east coast. glenn ong didnt feel a thing either. but oh wells) but a heartbreaking need to be stronger as she sobbed on the phone earlier this morning.

on a lighter note, today marks the first of Ramadhan!



as emah noticed: gone where the days of pure white cotton embroidered telekongs and the only 'fashionable' ones where those silky white types. scanning through all our telekongs yesterday, we have pink, yellow, green, beige, even black floral motifs across the safs. heh. and of course the very cute girly one alya wore. that was before she gave up. which was on our fifth rakaah after starting to lean sideways against her mum. soon, her very cute sjadah was a substitute for her sleeping mat.
